Emotional Recovery

Almost everyone who suffers with the disease of addiction experiences unstable emotions. During the beginning stages of recovery, after self-medication and detox medication have ceased, most residents experience an increase in unstable or uncommon emotions. This is normal in the recovery process, because intense emotions are medicated during active addiction.

At Mt. View Treatment, we view emotional recovery to be at the heart of the treatment process. We facilitate daily group therapy, individual therapy twice weekly, family therapy weekly, and ongoing emotional support 24 hours a day. Residents are challenged each day to identify underlying and buried emotions, many times resulting from childhood experiences
